About the Company
We invented the world’s first subscription-based photo book service, which makes creating photo books “automatic” for its customers. By focusing on four core values—beyond easy, super affordable, great quality, and amazing service—our client has become a beloved brand of millennial moms. We’ve raised more than $20MM to date. What that means for you: we’re growing quickly and opportunities abound!

Here’s a little video about how we started

Here’s our viral “Real Mom” video—65 million views and counting!

About the Team
We have a high-performing ALL-STAR culture and team and are headquartered in Provo, Utah (with a Salt Lake City annex office coming Summer 2017). We offer a competitive compensation package including salary, bonus, equity program, health benefits, unlimited PTO, and lots of flexibility.

The “Big Why” driving the company’s mission is to strengthen family relationships, so our co-founders have deliberately created a company culture that’s very family-friendly. Their goal is that everyone on the team can put this mission into practice in their own lives, whether that’s flexibility to go to a child’s dance recital or flexibility to train for a marathon.

We strive to be an employer-of-choice for women and parents by offering flexible working options, welcoming kids in the office, and strongly supporting women in leadership roles. (In fact, women make up 60% of the company’s leadership positions.)

We have put incredible focus into building a team of high-performing “All-Stars.” All-Stars have 5 characteristics:
  1. Grown-Up (you manage yourself and your time & handle disagreements without drama)

  2. Ship (you get things out the door efficiently, and manage shifting priorities)

  3. Amazing (your work is simply AMAZING!)

  4. Optimistic (you share solutions instead of problems), and

  5. Kind (you’re consistently kind to teammates and partners).

If this sounds like you, we’d love to talk!

As the Technical Project Manager, you’ll be the person who coordinates all the people and assets behind-the-scenes to make sure all of our projects are completed and delivered on time. You’ll be the main point of contact for our backend development team, managing the ongoing and plentiful requests for improvements to the mobile app, website, internal systems and external integrations. (And probably much more, but we have so many things going on we forgot to write them down in this job description. This is why we need your help!)
We expect you to be a
super user of our issue and project tracking tool, JIRA. We hope you’ll create beautiful project plans, realistic timelines, and other documentation to make sure all of our internal and external teams are aligned.
Most importantly, you should be a master at communicating with different personalities. We are a diverse team, with lots of important deadlines. We expect that you will communicate clearly, succinctly and firmly, follow up diligently even when we don’t want to hear it, and always be professional, respectful and polite. You’ll be successful on this team if everyone loves working with you and always wants you in the room.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design, implement, and own project management processes for the backend development team.
  • Work across teams to understand project scope, translate objectives into requirements, and track progress of deliverables.
  • Proactively manage the backend dev team work, obstacles, and competing priorities to make sure every deadline is met.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of team project schedules, communicating with team members to determine feasibility, measure work volume and assign responsibility to achieve goals.
  • Coordinate with various internal teams to provide relevant updates and propose reprioritization, as necessary.
  • Obtain necessary feedback and approvals in the appropriate turnaround time from relevant stakeholders.
  • Take initiative and solve problems.

  • 2+ years professional experience either doing or building towards a technical project management role.
  • A solid understanding of tech specifically software development, database server architecture, Amazon web services, and SQL.
  • Background with JIRA and Kanban project management processes.
  • Excellent big picture organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to be tactful, articulate and succinct in verbal and written communication.
  • Adaptable and positive when project scope changes (happens often!).
  • Ability to quickly process information, assess problems and focus on priorities.
  • Project management, agile training or certifications are a bonus.
