They're bringing smart devices to apartment communities. The software, hardware, and service platform enables the owners and managers of multifamily properties to offer smart homes as an amenity to their residents while simultaneously improving the efficiency of their operations. The software is live in over a dozen markets and counting. They're a small team making a lot happen, they are the leaders in this space taking on some big names, and are on track for a billion dollar outcome.

Your Mission
As the first, full-time recruiting and talent hire, you will work hand-in-hand with hiring managers and members of the executive team to establish a foundation for people excellence throughout our growing organization. First and foremost, you will do this by recruiting incredible talent. We plan to grow the team substantially in the next year, and you will drive those efforts. We're currently sourcing hourly field technicians, senior individual-contributor engineering hires, and executive/management level sales and finance roles - our needs run the gamut! In this role, you will also pitch in with our organization's professional development and productivity practices, building on the existing cultural foundation. Our team is distributed and multidisciplinary, which will provide fresh challenges to you as you help grow the team to over 100 people in the next year, spread across the country, from the 40 or so team members today.

Outcomes and Responsibilities
  • Develop and cultivate a large talent pipeline for roles spanning hourly field technicians, highly specialized engineers, and executive level managers by managing listings, doing direct outreach, engaging the network, and occasionally leveraging recruiting services
  • Create and oversee effective screening processes that yield high quality hires, helping team members on how to interview and evaluate candidates
  • Support on-boarding by working with managers to ensure our hires get off to a great start and are retained well into their tenure
  • Ensure that team members are provided the tools and environment to work, communicate, and collaborate efficiently
  • Ensure we maintain a high level of employee engagement and satisfaction, as evidenced by a score of 3.5 or higher out of 4 on our internal employee satisfaction surveys

We're looking for...
  • Someone with 3 to 7 years of experience for whom this will be their biggest job yet!
  • Someone who has been the first or second talent acquisition hire at a fast-growing technology startup in the past and who enjoys the fun, opportunities, challenges, and occasional chaos of a startup environment
  • An experienced recruiter, who knows where to find people and how to motivate them to apply
  • A master of interviewing who can ensure our teams evaluate and screen talent effectively
  • Someone with experience hiring and on-boarding in the context of a distributed or remote team
  • A coach who can help members of team adopt new practices and grow as recruiters, interviewers, and members of a team
